Evergreen, erect, compact subshrub or shrub, up to 50cm high; native to Australia (S.New South Wales to E. Main components of the essential oil produced by hydrodistillation of the leaves were maaliol (34.5%), 1,8-cineole (24.2%), Z-dihydroagarofuran (15.8%), β-pinene (6.9%), α-pinene (3.0%), verbenone (1.9%), myrtenal (1.6%), germacrene D (1.6%), and limonene (1.5%).
