Daniellia oliveri (Rolfe) Hutch. & Dalz. - Caesalpiniaceae - West African gum-copal, Afrikanischer Copal (-Baum)
Deciduous tree, up to 25 (45)m high, native to west tropical africa; bark pale grey, scaly, with crimson slash; crown obconical, flat-topped; leaves with petiole 17-50cm long, leaflets 4-10 pairs, ovate-elliptic to ovate-oblong; flowers white, fragrant; seeds obovoid or ellipsoid, 2-2.6cm long.

Daniellia oliveri bark CO2 extract is used as cosmetic and fragrance agent, containing essential oil (70-85%, mainly sesquiterpenes). Major components are γ-cadinene (15-25%), cubebene, copaene, caryophyllene, humulene, and caryophyllene oxide.
