| The essential oil of the leaves contain limonene 3.4%, citronellal 40.2%, citronellol 13.3%, geraniol 17.7%, elemene 2.7%, citronellyl acetate 4.5%, δ-cadinene 2.8%, geranyl acetate 4.6%, and elemol 4.7%. \\ | Cympogon winterianus is the source of **Java-type citronella oil** ("Mahapengri"), owning a fresh, citrusy, somewhat lemon-like odor. Main constituents of the essential oil are citronellal (32-45%, best quality greater 38%), geraniol (12-18%, best quality greater 16%), citronellol (11-15%, best quality greater 12%), geranyl acetate (3-8%), citronellyl acetate (2-4%), and limonene (2-5%). \\ |
