Chinese weeping cypress, 柏木 bai mu (chin.), Tränen-Zypresse
Coniferous tree, up to 35m tall, native to central China.
„Often classified in Chamaecyparis on account of its flattened foliage sprays and relatively few seeds in small cones; however, it is here placed in Cupressus because of its developmental characters (cones maturing in 2nd year) and chemical composition of biflavones.“

The volatile wood oil of C.funebris, also called cedarwood oil, contains α-cedrene (26%), thujopsene (29%), β-cedrene (9%), α-cedrol (9%) widdrol (9%), cuparene (3%), and α-bisabolol (0.8%).
