„The Pear lemon (Citrus × limon 'Lumia') is often confused with the 'Palestine Sweet Lime' Citrus × jambhiri Lush. 'Palestine' or other sweet limes. Also called French lime and (erroneously) Sweet lemon it is a tree found in Mediterranean countries. The fruit resembles a pear in shape, has a thick peel and is not very juicy. It can grow to a formidable size; the fruit in the picture is 18 cm (7 in) long as the ruler shows. A group of scientists working in the University of Catania, Italy has shown by studying its chromosomes that the Pear lemon (and its cousin Adam's apple below) was first a hybrid of pomelo and citron, which then hybridized with lemon. Pear lemon is sometimes classified as a citron hybrid.

The peel oil of the 'Borneo' cultivar consists mainly of limonene (38%), linalyl acetate (31%), and linalool (25%).
The peel oil of the 'Poire de Commandeur' cultivar has limonene 95%.
The leaf oil of 'Borneo' cultivar is dominated by linalool (47%), with linalyl acetate (16%), α-terpineol (8%), geraniol (5%), and geranyl acetate (4%).
The leaf oil of the 'Poire de Commenadeur' cultivar is dominated by β-pinene (41%) and (E)-β-ocimene (15%).

Thirty-four compounds were identified in C. lumia ‘Pyriformis’ EO. Main components were limonene (93.8%), β-phellandrene (1.55%), linalool (0.85%), β-ocimene (0.74%), and nootkatone (0.66%). Interesting minor constituents were e.g. α-pinene (0.28%), linalool oxide (0.24%), citronellal (0.14%), trans carveol (0.29%), carvone (0.13%), neral (0.11%), geranial (0.04%), perilla aldehyde (0.18%), indole (0.03%), and trans farnesol (0.12%).
