Agrimonia procera Wallr. - syn.Agrimonia repens L.; Agrimonia odorata auct. (non Mill.) - Rosaceae
fragrant agrimony, Großer Odermennig, Wohlriechender Odermennig

Erect perennial herb, very similar to A.eupatoria but much less common, 0.50-1.80m high, native to Europe, also cultivated; leaves with green to glaucous lower (abaxial) surface, not hoary, with fragrant glands; flowers yellow, 1cm across; fruit lower spines bent downwards.

The dried aboveground parts are also a source of 'Agrimoniae herba' (used to treat mucosal inlfammations of the troat and acute diarrhoea) like that of of A.eupatoria.

Dried flowers and leaves are used for scenting pillows and in pot purri.

Radical scavenging capacity of Agrimonia eupatoria (Agrimony) and Agrimonia procera (Fragrant agrimony) extracts varied in a wide range. Extracts isolated with polar solvents (acetone/n-BuOH and acetone/water) were characterised as possessing higher value.
