Neottia nidus-avis (L.) Rich. - Orchidaceae - bird's-nest orchid, Vogel-Nestwurz
Non-photosynthetic perennial herbaceous rhizome plant, 20-45cm; whole plant yellow-brown; stem upright stem; cataphylls 4-6, pressed against the stem; inflorescense a short pedicel; flowers smell like honey.
Mycoterotroph: the plant receives organic matter from its associated fungi.
