„This dense leafy bush displays for several weeks in May yellow flowers which have a pronounced indole-like odor. The main constituents identified in the headspace are phenylethyl alcohol (37%) and its acetate (21%), indole (17.5%), beta elemene (6%), caryophyllene (3.5%), and E ocimene (3%). Other odorants of interest, although minor, are Z 3-hexenyl acetate (1%), methyl benzoate (0.2%), methyl phenylacetate (0.4%), 2-aminobenzaldehyde (trace) and methyl nicotinate (trace).“
