Main components of the steam-distilled volatile oil of the flowers were phenylethyl alcohol (87.8%) and benzyl alcohol (3.3%). Minor constituents were e.g. benzaldehyde (0.09%), linalool (0.09%), phenylethyl acetate (0.22%), cinnamal (0.09%), and isoeugenol (0.23%). \\
