 Main components of the essential oil of dried fruits of Elettaria cardamomum (hydrodistillation; 3h; yield 1.0%) were α-terpinyl acetate (40.7%), 1,8-cineole (25.6%), linalool (6.3%), terpinen-4-ol (2.8%), dehydro-1,8-cineole (2.4%), sabinene (2.1%), linalyl acetate (2.0%), geraniol (1.6%), α-pinene 81.4%), and myrcene (1.4%). Minor and trace compounds were e.g. octanal, (Z)-4-decenal, bornyl acetate, neral, geranial, carvone, neryl acetate, geranyl acetate, cuminal, nerol, nerolidol, perilla alcohol, eugenol, thymol, and carvacrol. \\
